Biggest Loser 7

Passing the Torch

What a whirlwind! The road to the Season 7 finale was filled with back-to-back interviews, travel and excitement. I know many of you can relate to keeping a hectic schedule, too! So, how do we maintain our personal health routine when life gets even busier and obstacles get our way?

Since schedules will never be perfect, let's find ways to make healthy living fit into our lives...

Travel is one of my current obstacles. Not all airports are going to have sensible food options for meals on the go, so I plan ahead. When you pack your suitcase, don't forget to leave some room for healthy snacks. One great food source I can always rely on at the airport and on the road is lowfat milk – I can find it wherever I go! It's a great, filling snack that is nutrient-rich.

What about getting to the hotel to find that their gym is under construction or worse, they don't have one at all? Get basic with body weight exercises and do sit-ups, squats, lunges, jumping-jacks or even running in place when you need to work your body out but don't have any machines. Make yourself a little routine like doing a circuit of three sets of fifteen reps of each before you shower. And don't forget, you're traveling, so check out the exciting new city with a long walk or jog to discover the new world around you.

I practiced these tricks on my recent trip to Los Angeles for the "Biggest Loser" finale and they really do work!

Speaking of my time at the finale, it was awesome! After getting up super early for interviews I headed to the Biggest Loser studio for a dress rehearsal. I was part of the opening shot for the show along with several other former contestants. Getting the chance to see everyone all dressed up was incredible and really brought me back to my time as a finalist last year and all the surrounding excitement. It felt like a family reunion!

The show flew by and next thing I knew I was congratulating the new winner, Helen Phillips! Not only did she win $250,000 but she joined the ranks of celebrities with her very own 'got milk?' ad. ...So very cool!

After the finale I had the opportunity to interview the trainers and finalists from this past season's Biggest Loser, you can check that out below. Before heading back to Texas I also got the chance to meet the winners of the whymilk.com Biggest Loser ticket giveaway. Congrats to Natalie and Pearl, it was so great to meet you!

I'm saying so long for now, but want to wish you all the best of luck in your journey to wellness. Remember, if I can do it, you can do it – and don't forget to drink your three glasses of lowfat milk a day!

Your Friend,

Michelle
